Bangladesh is the third-highest producer of rice. In other words, Bangladesh is a country of agriculture and farmers. Agriculture still contributes a significant percentage of the gross domestic production (GDP) of Bangladesh. Since its Journey, IRDF has been working for the betterment of local farmers. IRDF generally postulates three basic programs for farmers.

  • Basic Agricultural Training Program (BATP)
  • Modern Technology & Agriculture (MTA)
  • Drug and Fertilizer Awareness Program (DFAP)

Integrated Rural Development Foundation had done numerous projects on food and agriculture with the help of government and non-governmental organizations. Greater Rangpur Agriculture and Rural Development Project (GRARDP) is one of the successful projects implemented at Hatibandha Upazila In 2008. The aim was to improve the livelihood of landless, by utilizing their resources. This project had improved many farmers’ financial and educational status. GARDAP was designed by the Department of Agriculture Extension and sponsored by Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
